The collection of Louis-Antoine and Véronique Prat started in the 1970s, has become one of the world’s most prestigious private collections of French drawing. It focuses on illustrations from the French school before 1900, and provides a particularly representative overview of three centuries of French art, from Callot to Seurat. The two collectors have always favored works that are significant landmarks in art history, and some of their most famous drawings are closely associated with the genesis of seminal works in French painting: the decorations at Versailles, for example, by Le Brun, Coypel and La Fosse, Andromache Mourning Hector by David, The Dream of Ossian by Ingres, and Degas’s The Belleli Family. The drawings by Poussin, Watteau, Prud’hon, Delacroix, Gros, Millet, Redon, Cézanne and Toulouse-Lautrec in this collection are certainly among their most important.The Golden Age of Danish Painting

The exhibition, jointly organized by the Nationalmuseum, Stockholm, the National Gallery of Denmark (SMK, Copenhagen) and the Petit Palais, includes more than 200 works by leading artists of this period, including Christoffer Eckersberg, Christen Købke, Martinus Rørbye and Constantin Hansen. The exhibition has benefited from research carried out over many years and offers a comprehensive analysis of this artistic period.
